SpiceJet Flight Returns to Delhi Due to Engine Malfunction
Emergency Landing of SpiceJet Flight
A SpiceJet flight carrying 150 passengers had to return to Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport shortly after takeoff due to an engine malfunction. The flight, designated SG121, departed from Delhi when the crew detected a technical issue with one of the engines. As a precaution, the pilots opted to bring the aircraft back to Delhi. According to sources connected to the incident, an emergency was declared at the airport to ensure priority landing and the availability of medical and fire services. At the time of the incident, the Boeing 737 was reported to have around 150 passengers on board. A spokesperson for the airline confirmed that a flight bound for Leh from Delhi returned due to technical difficulties.

The spokesperson stated that the aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers disembarked normally. A maintenance team is expected to conduct a further inspection of the aircraft. SpiceJet is currently working on expanding its fleet.
Last week, SpiceJet announced plans to increase its fleet to approximately 60 aircraft through a combination of wet and damp leasing, while also gradually returning grounded planes to service.
