On Friday, Shahzad Poonawala, the national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), updated his profile bio on the social media platform 'X', omitting any mention of the party. This alteration has led to widespread speculation regarding his potential departure from the BJP. Despite numerous attempts to reach out for clarification, there has been no official confirmation from Poonawala, who has remained silent on the matter.

In his new bio, Poonawala describes himself as, 'Religion - Islam, Culture - Hindu, Ideology - Indian, Author: Journey of GST; Lifelong follower of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.' He also shared a screenshot of this updated bio on his 'X' account. Previously, he had identified himself as the national spokesperson for the BJP. This development comes shortly after Poonawala hinted at stepping away from active politics, stating that it might be time for him to withdraw.

Additionally, he reposted videos of various interviews on 'X' where he discussed his thoughts on exiting active politics.
