Activist Sonam Wangchuk expressed his admiration for Indian Railways on Thursday. He subtly urged the central government to fulfill promises made to students during protests at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak allegations. In a video message shared on X, Wangchuk recounted his experience traveling on the Vande Bharat Express from Delhi to Srinagar, describing it as a "fantastic experience" and expressing pride in the Indian Railways.
Wangchuk mentioned, "As I informed you a couple of days ago, we have set off for Ladakh. We traveled by train, which is my preferred mode of transport. This was my first experience on the Vande Bharat service from Delhi to Srinagar, and I was eager to see the Chenab Bridge. It was a remarkable experience, and I take great pride in Indian Railways. Before continuing our journey to Ladakh, we are spending a day in Kashmir to rejuvenate with its fresh air and clean water."
Welcoming the proposed examination reforms, Wangchuk expressed hope that these changes would extend beyond just exams and lead to significant improvements in the country's education system. He stated, "I am also pleased that the examination reform bill has been introduced in Parliament. I hope these reforms will not be limited to exams but will be implemented throughout the entire education system."
Additionally, he appealed to the government to honor the written assurances given to him and the Cockroach People's Party (CJP) that no FIRs or legal actions would be taken against students participating in the protests. The government must adhere to these commitments and ensure their enforcement.
