Controversial Claim by Widow Sparks Debate in Community
A Shocking Revelation
A widow recently informed her mother-in-law that she is three months pregnant, igniting a stir within the family.
The news sent shockwaves through the community, prompting a gathering where villagers demanded to know the identity of the child's father. During the meeting, the widow explained that three months ago, she had visited the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj for a ritual bath. While there, she claimed to have invoked the Ganges and drank its water three times, suggesting that she might have inadvertently consumed the essence of a sage.
The village head dismissed her claims as impossible, asserting that no one could become pregnant from such an act. In response, the widow cited examples from religious texts, stating, "Our scriptures illustrate that the sage Vibhandaka's essence led to the birth of Rishi Shringi, and Hanuman's sweat was consumed by a fish, resulting in the birth of Makardhwaja. Additionally, Kunti became pregnant through the blessings of the sun, and the three queens of King Dasharatha conceived after consuming kheer. Even Sita emerged from a pot buried in the ground!"
She argued that if these stories are accepted, then her situation should not be dismissed as impossible.
Ultimately, she clarified that she is not actually pregnant and staged this drama to highlight the need for society to awaken from its superstitions. She urged the community to abandon outdated beliefs that propagate ignorance and superstition, emphasizing the importance of scientific and rational thinking.
She invited anyone interested to verify her claims through a medical examination.
