On Sunday, Smriti Mandhana made history by becoming the second Indian woman and the fourth overall to score 10,000 runs in international cricket. This remarkable achievement occurred during the fourth T20I match against Sri Lanka at the Greenfield International Stadium.
Mandhana reached this milestone in the seventh over of India's innings, joining the ranks of Mithali Raj, Suzie Bates, and Charlotte Edwards as one of the few women to achieve this feat.
Mandhana's Impressive Statistics
In Test matches, Mandhana has accumulated 629 runs across seven matches and 12 innings, boasting an impressive average of 57.18, including two centuries and three fifties.
In One Day Internationals (ODIs), she has scored 5,322 runs in 117 innings at an average of 48.38, featuring 14 centuries and 34 fifties, making her the sixth-highest run-scorer in ODIs.
In T20 Internationals, Mandhana has amassed 4,102 runs in 157 matches and 151 innings, with an average of 29.94 and a strike rate of 124.22, including one century and 32 fifties, ranking her as the second-highest run-scorer in this format.
Outstanding Performance Against Sri Lanka
In the fourth T20I against Sri Lanka, Mandhana reached her fifty in just 35 balls during the 12th over. She holds the record for the most 50-plus scores in WT20Is, with 32, followed by Suzie Bates and Beth Mooney, who each have 29.
Mandhana scored 80 runs off 48 balls, hitting 11 fours and three sixes, contributing significantly to India's highest team total of 221/2 in women's T20I cricket.
A Record-Breaking Year
This year has been exceptional for Mandhana, as she scored 1,362 runs in 23 ODIs at an average of 61.90 and a strike rate of 109.92, including five centuries and five half-centuries, making her the top run-scorer in ODIs for 2025.
Fastest Indian ODI Century
Mandhana also set a new record for the fastest ODI century by an Indian, achieving the milestone in just 50 balls against Australia, breaking Virat Kohli's previous record of 52 balls.
World Cup Highlights
Her performance in the World Cup was equally impressive, scoring 434 runs in nine matches at an average of 54.25, including one century and two fifties, finishing as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament. She excelled against top teams, scoring 80 against Australia, 88 against England, 109 against New Zealand, and a crucial 45 in the final, where she formed a key partnership with Shafali Verma.
Additional Milestones
Mandhana also surpassed the 5,000-run mark in women's ODIs, becoming the fifth player to do so. With 5,322 runs in 117 matches, she is now tied with Australian legend Meg Lanning for the most international centuries in women's cricket, each having 17.
