Sivasagar Police Injures Suspect Linked to Former CRPF Jawaan's Murder

Sivasagar, Sept 22: A 24-year-old man, Rubul Khan, was shot and injured by Sivasagar Police after he allegedly tried to escape from custody on Monday night. This incident is connected to the murder of former CRPF jawan Biman Barua.
According to police reports, Khan sustained a serious injury to his right leg and was promptly taken to Sivasagar Civil Hospital for medical attention. An official from the hospital confirmed that he is currently stable.
Authorities indicated that Khan was associated with Vicky Singh, who is also implicated in Barua's murder. Singh had previously been shot in the leg by police on September 19 while attempting to escape during a transfer to the crime scene.
Biman Barua, a former CRPF jawan residing in Bihubar, was fatally attacked on September 18 in Rangajan Benguli Basti, where he succumbed to injuries from a sharp weapon.
Following the murder, Singh fled to Nagaland, leading Bihubar Police to notify their counterparts in the neighboring state about his whereabouts.
A police team, led by Chetia, successfully apprehended Singh in Naginimora on Saturday in connection with Barua's murder. During the investigation, Singh was taken back to the crime scene to identify where he allegedly discarded the weapon. It was during this process that he attempted to escape, resulting in police firing at him.
Since the incident on September 19, Singh has been receiving medical treatment. Police now suspect that Khan was also involved in Barua's murder and had connections to drug trafficking. He was being interrogated when he attempted to flee, prompting the police to fire at him.
