A substantial fire erupted in a commercial property located in Brooklyn, New York, triggering a swift emergency response. Authorities confirmed that a third alarm was activated at a single-storey commercial building on Avenue H, where flames were visible emerging from the roof.



Emergency alerts indicated the fire was reported at 1092 Avenue H, but subsequent updates from responders focused on the main activity around 1021 Avenue H in the Midwood neighborhood. The situation escalated, prompting the FDNY to issue a third alarm response.


As per updates from Nationwide Emergency and Notification Alert on X, fire command units reported that overhaul operations were in progress, with parts of the fire being subdued. Nevertheless, conditions at the scene remained dynamic.


According to a report by BrookNews, the fire spread throughout the building at 1021 Avenue H in Midwood. At the time of the update, the fire was still not fully contained, necessitating a significant deployment of firefighters and equipment.


NYC Emergency Management utilized its Notify NYC system to alert the public about the situation, stating, “Three Alarm Fire: Avenue H & Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn. Expect smoke & traffic delays in the area. Residents nearby should avoid smoke and keep windows closed.”


Authorities urged residents in the vicinity to remain indoors and take necessary precautions due to the smoke. Traffic disruptions were reported around Avenue H and Coney Island Avenue as emergency personnel managed the scene.
