The Congress party won this seat in both 1962 and 1967. Following that, the Praja Socialist Party achieved victory twice. The BJP has been the most successful party here, winning five times. The RJD first claimed victory in 2000 and continued its success in the 2015 and 2020 elections. The Janata Dal has also managed to elect representatives from this seat twice, while the JD(U) has yet to secure a win here.
