Bade Mangal Shivling Puja

On May 5, 2026, the first major Tuesday of the month of Jyeshtha will be observed. This day, known as 'Bade Mangal' or 'Budhwa Mangal', holds great significance in Hinduism. It is dedicated to the worship of Lord Hanuman, who is revered on this auspicious occasion.

Hanuman as the 11th Rudra Avatar of Lord Shiva

Lord Hanuman is considered the 11th Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva. Therefore, performing the worship of the Shivling on this special day not only pleases Mahadev but also brings blessings from Bajrangbali.

Offerings for the Shivling on Bade Mangal

Red Sandalwood and Red Flowers: Although Lord Shiva is fond of white offerings, applying red sandalwood paste and offering red roses or hibiscus flowers on the Shivling is considered highly auspicious on Hanuman's day. This practice helps mitigate the negative effects of the planet Mars.

Water and Rice in a Copper Vessel: Fill a copper pot with Ganga water, mix in some rice, and chant 'Om Namah Shivaya' while offering it.

Bilva Leaves and Besan Laddus: Offer bilva leaves to Mahadev and also present besan laddus, which are favorites of Lord Hanuman. Sharing this prasad afterward brings peace and prosperity to the household.

Guidelines for the First Bade Mangal Puja

After bathing, wear red or yellow clothing.

Remember that while Tulsi is dear to Hanuman, it should never be offered on the Shivling as it is considered forbidden.

Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa while seated in front of the Shivling and concluding with the aarti of both Lord Shiva and Hanuman is highly beneficial.

Seek forgiveness for any mistakes made during the worship.
