Siddaramaiah Criticizes Prahlad Joshi's Appointment as Education Minister
Siddaramaiah's Strong Opposition to Joshi's Role
Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, has expressed his disapproval of Prahlad Joshi's appointment as the Union Education Minister. He stated that this decision has brought embarrassment to the Kannada community and has called for Joshi's immediate removal from the position. In a post on social media, Siddaramaiah remarked that there should have been pride in having a Member of Parliament from Karnataka serve as the education minister. However, he criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for appointing Joshi, who has previously defended individuals convicted of rape against a woman, leading to shame for the Kannada people.
Concerns Over Ideological Similarities
Siddaramaiah further elaborated that both Joshi and the outgoing Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, share similar ideological backgrounds, having entered politics through the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He emphasized that Joshi is not different from Pradhan in terms of ideology, as both have similar views towards women, Dalits, the poor, backward communities, Muslims, and Christians, akin to the RSS's perspective. Therefore, he believes that the only change is in the face, while the direction remains the same, with Joshi likely to operate under RSS directives.
Calls for Action from Congress Leaders
Siddaramaiah mentioned that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have raised this issue in Parliament, demanding Joshi's removal from the Ministry of Education. He expressed concern about the future of the country's education system under the leadership of someone with such a mindset. Rahul Gandhi and MP Priyanka Gandhi have exposed Joshi's true nature in the Lok Sabha, bringing the truth to light for the nation. While their voices may be suppressed in Parliament, they cannot be silenced among millions across the country. It is possible that Joshi may soon follow the same path as Dharmendra Pradhan.
Urgent Call for Change
Siddaramaiah reiterated that Joshi will operate according to RSS guidelines and stressed that the only change is in appearance, with the direction remaining unchanged. He urged Prime Minister Modi to remove Prahlad Joshi from the Ministry of Education immediately if he truly cares about teachers and students, suggesting that this crucial responsibility should be entrusted to someone genuinely capable.
