Siddaramaiah Congratulates VD Satheesan as Kerala's New Congress Leader

Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed his congratulations on Thursday to Congress leader VD Satheesan for being elected as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) in Kerala and the state's next Chief Minister. In a post, Siddaramaiah praised Satheesan's extensive political journey and expressed confidence in his leadership. He stated that he congratulates VD Satheesan on his election as the leader of the Congress Legislative Party in Kerala and as the next Chief Minister of the state.

Highlighting Satheesan's experience, he noted that the leader has served as an MLA six times and has previously held the position of opposition leader, along with a long history in student politics through the NSUI.

Siddaramaiah remarked that Satheesan, who has been an MLA six times and was the opposition leader from 2021 to 2026, began his public life in student politics with the NSUI. He possesses decades of legislative experience, organizational commitment, and a profound understanding of the aspirations of the public. Siddaramaiah also mentioned his eagerness to collaborate with the new leadership to strengthen federalism and protect the interests of Karnataka, Kerala, and their citizens. He expressed confidence that under Satheesan's leadership, a government dedicated to secularism, social justice, welfare, and inclusive development will be established. He looks forward to working together to uphold the spirit of federalism and safeguard the shared interests of the people of Karnataka and Kerala. He extended his best wishes to Satheesan and the people of Kerala.

Meanwhile, Satheesan, who has been nominated for the Chief Minister position, stated that he will involve all senior leaders and emphasized the need for collective governance. Addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram following his appointment, Satheesan mentioned that he would consult senior leaders KC Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala in decision-making. He remarked, 'I consider this position not as a personal achievement but as a divine blessing... I will take everyone into full confidence. I seek the support of every section of Kerala's populace. Only through collective efforts can a new Kerala be built.' He further added that he will meet with the Governor after the Congress Legislative Party meeting to claim the formation of the government.
