Gujarat Titans Prepare for Match Against Delhi Capitals

Shubman Gill, the appointed captain of Gujarat Titans (GT), is set to make his comeback in the upcoming match against Delhi Capitals (DC) during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season. This match is scheduled for Wednesday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Gill missed the previous game against Rajasthan Royals on April 4 due to a muscle spasm, leading to Rashid Khan stepping in as captain.

Sai Sudharsan Assures Gill's Fitness

In a pre-match press conference, Sai Sudharsan confirmed that Shubman Gill is 'completely fine.' He stated, 'Shubman has no problem; he is completely fine. He will be fine.' Additionally, Gill was seen practicing in the nets ahead of the match against DC.

Gujarat Titans Seek First Win After Tough Start

The Gujarat Titans, under Gill's leadership, are still in search of their first victory in the IPL 2026 season. They have faced defeats in both of their matches thus far, losing to Punjab Kings by three wickets in their opening game and narrowly falling to Rajasthan Royals by six runs in their second match.

Reflecting on these losses, Sudharsan mentioned that the team has gained valuable insights and is determined to apply these lessons to secure their first win in IPL 2026 and regain their momentum. 'We look back on these two games, and we have learnt a lot for sure, and I think we will look forward to doing that, so that we get our first win and get the momentum back,' he remarked.

Current Standings in IPL 2026

As it stands, Gujarat Titans are positioned ninth in the IPL 2026 points table, having yet to earn any points from their two matches, with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.424. They are one of only two teams this season without any points, alongside Chennai Super Kings, who have also lost all three of their matches.
