Shooting Reports from Portland's Washington Square Mall

On Saturday night, reports of a shooting surfaced from the Washington Square Mall in Portland. While the specifics are still unclear, social media posts indicated that an incident might have occurred within the mall premises. One individual on Facebook mentioned experiencing an 'active shooting' and confirmed their safe evacuation from the area.

Another user on X, previously known as Twitter, also hinted at a potential shooting at the mall. As of now, authorities have not verified these claims, and there is no official word regarding any injuries or suspects involved.

Earlier this year, a tragic incident occurred at the same mall when a man was fatally shot in a vehicle located in the parking lot, as reported by the Tigard Police Department. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m., when a 911 caller alerted authorities about a man slumped over in a parked car on Southwest Washington Square Road. The caller had reported hearing 'pops' shortly before making the call. Upon arrival, police and medical personnel confirmed the man was deceased. The victim was later identified as 29-year-old Ediel Ernesto Apodaca-Sandoval from Salem, who had been shot while inside his vehicle.
