Shooting Incident Near MGM National Harbor Leaves One Dead
Shooting Investigation Underway
Late Thursday night, a man was fatally shot near MGM National Harbor in Maryland, leading to the arrest of one suspect. Local authorities are investigating whether the shooting was the result of a road rage incident. Police received reports around 11:15 p.m. regarding what was initially thought to be a personal injury accident at the intersection of MGM National Avenue and Monument Avenue in Prince George's County.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered an adult male inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Sources indicate that detectives suspect the shooting may have originated from a road rage altercation, occurring on a roadway adjacent to the casino complex and its parking garages, rather than within MGM National Harbor itself.
The suspect has since surrendered to law enforcement and is currently in custody. Investigators are actively working to uncover the motive behind the shooting and whether additional individuals were involved. The incident led to road closures in the vicinity for several hours as detectives processed the crime scene, with affected lanes reopening around 4:15 a.m.
This shooting follows a recent arrest by Prince George's County police in connection with another homicide linked to MGM National Harbor. Earlier this week, Dayon Neal was charged in the fatal shooting of Daniel Thomas that occurred in a parking garage at the entertainment venue. The investigation into the latest homicide is ongoing, and authorities have yet to disclose the victim's identity or any formal charges against the suspect.
