Shooting Incident in Jharkhand: Judicial Magistrate's Wife Injured
Shooting Incident in Godda District
On Saturday evening, an unidentified assailant shot a 25-year-old woman, the wife of a judicial magistrate from Sasaram, Bihar, in Godda district, Jharkhand, according to police reports.
As per a police official, Vandana Kumari had arrived at the Godda court to attend proceedings related to an ongoing divorce case with her husband. After the court session, she was riding a motorcycle with her brother back to their hometown, Parsa.
During their journey, assailants on another motorcycle intercepted them in the Pathargama police station area and opened fire. The officer in charge of Pathargama, Shiv Dayal, stated that the attackers cornered them in a secluded spot and fired three rounds.
Shiv Dayal further explained, "Two bullets grazed the victim, while one struck her in the back. She was initially taken to the community health center in Pathargama for first aid and later referred to Godda Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment. Due to her condition, she was subsequently admitted to a hospital in Bhagalpur, Bihar, for better care."
Mukesh Kumar, the Superintendent of Police in Godda, mentioned that it is premature to comment on the case as investigations are ongoing. He stated, "We are examining every angle and searching for the culprits. It is too early to make any statements."
However, the victim's family alleges that her husband hired the assailants to carry out the shooting, as the divorce dispute has been ongoing for several years. The SP also confirmed that the woman's condition is stable.
