Shooting Incident in Gorakhpur

In Gorakhpur district, Uttar Pradesh, a man shot two individuals after they mocked him by calling him 'fat'. The police reported this incident on Saturday.

Authorities stated that following a complaint, a first information report (FIR) was filed, leading to the arrest of the suspect on Friday evening.

According to police, Arjun Chauhan, a resident of the Belghat area, had attended a community feast near the Tarkulha Devi temple with his uncle five days prior.

During the event, two other guests, Anil Chauhan and Shubham Chauhan, made fun of his weight, allegedly referring to him as 'Motu'. Jitendra Kumar, the Additional Superintendent of Police (South), explained that angered by the remarks, Arjun Chauhan, along with his friend Asif Khan, pursued the two men on Thursday along the highway and managed to stop their car near the Tenua toll plaza on the Jagdishpur-Kalesar bypass.

The police further detailed that Arjun and Asif grabbed the collars of the two men, pulled them out of the car, and opened fire on them. Bystanders rushed the injured individuals to the district hospital, from where they were later transferred to Gorakhpur Medical College and Hospital.

Officials confirmed that both victims are now out of danger, and based on a complaint from Shubham's father, the FIR was registered, resulting in the suspect's arrest on Friday.
