According to police reports, the ASI was stationed at a police post in Balirajgarh village. Around 1 AM on Tuesday, villagers learned of his presence in a woman's home. When they arrived, they allegedly confined him to a room. In an attempt to escape, the officer fired four rounds from his service weapon.

Casualties and Injuries

The gunfire injured four individuals, who were quickly transported to a hospital. Unfortunately, one of them, identified as Ashok Yadav, succumbed to his injuries at the Madhubani Sadar Hospital. The other three victims are currently receiving medical treatment.

Investigation and Allegations

SSP Yogendra Kumar stated that initial investigations suggest the ASI had an illicit relationship with the woman. He frequently visited her home, and on the night of the incident, he was caught by villagers. After being confined, he resorted to firing in a desperate attempt to escape.

Disciplinary Actions

In light of the severity of the incident, the police department has suspended the ASI and initiated proceedings for his dismissal. A murder case is also being filed against him at the Babubarhi police station.

To locate the absconding ASI, five special teams have been formed, conducting raids at various potential hideouts. The SSP has announced a reward of ₹25,000 for anyone providing credible information leading to the officer's arrest.
