Bhagalpur News: A shocking incident unfolded in Bhagalpur district, Bihar, on Tuesday when a barrage of gunfire erupted in the Sultan Ganj Nagar Parishad office during the day. The executive officer, Krishna Bhushan Kumar, was killed in the attack, while the chairman, Rajkumar Guddu, sustained serious injuries. The area was thrown into chaos following the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, the shooting occurred while postal procedures were underway at the Nagar Parishad office. A group of 3 to 5 assailants arrived on bullet motorcycles and stormed into the office. They opened fire without warning, reportedly discharging between 2 to 4 rounds. Panic ensued immediately, and both the executive officer and the chairman were shot, necessitating their urgent transfer to a hospital.

City DSP Ajay Kumar Chaudhary stated that multiple teams have been formed to investigate the case, and CCTV footage is being reviewed. He mentioned that the official confirmation of death would follow the medical report. SSP Pramod Yadav indicated that the attackers approached the chairman directly and fired. The executive officer bravely confronted the assailants, during which he was also shot. The chairman's condition is currently reported as stable.

The police have cordoned off the crime scene and deployed 3-4 special teams to track down the suspects. Two individuals have been identified based on CCTV footage, and raids are ongoing at various locations. Initial investigations suggest that the incident may be linked to personal enmity.
