This incident sent shockwaves through the community, prompting the police to launch an investigation that led to the arrest of three suspects. Initial findings suggest that the act stemmed from a mix of criminal insanity and superstition, with a young man allegedly taking this horrifying step due to unrequited love and a belief in occult practices.

What Happened?

The incident is linked to the funeral of 16-year-old Shubanshu, who passed away due to a severe illness. His family conducted the last rites at the Lodhipur cremation ground. After the pyre was lit, the family returned home, but upon their return to the cremation site, they discovered that the skull was missing, leading to immediate alarm and a call to the police.

How the Mystery Unfolded

Given the seriousness of the situation, the police reviewed nearby CCTV footage. The recordings revealed three suspicious individuals leaving the cremation ground on a moped. This evidence allowed the police to advance their investigation and detain the three suspects.

According to CO Varun Mishra, the main suspect, Aman, was infatuated with a girl and sought the help of black magic to win her over. It is alleged that Aman, along with his underage friend, contacted a local sorcerer, Avadhesh Sharma, who supposedly instructed him to retrieve a human skull from a burning pyre.

The Sinister Plan

The sorcerer convinced Aman that the skull would enable him to perform a spell that would make the girl and her entire family fall under his control. Driven by this superstition, Aman stole the skull from the cremation ground, intending to hand it over to the sorcerer.

What Was Found During the Search?

During the search of the sorcerer's premises, several suspicious and objectionable items related to occult practices were discovered. Additionally, around 50 photographs of men and women were found, which were allegedly linked to various occult rituals. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are trying to determine if this group has been involved in similar incidents in the past.
