Investigation into the Gruesome Murder

New Delhi: On Friday, crime and forensic teams are expected to recreate the scene of the tragic murder of the daughter of an IRS officer. Investigations have uncovered that the suspect, Rahul Meena, had a notorious reputation for his violent behavior in his hometown, according to official sources.

Sources indicated that the investigative team might visit the crime scene today to reconstruct events where CCTV footage is absent. They are also considering bringing the accused along for this purpose, with DCP (Southeast) Hemant Tiwari already at the victim's residence.

Details about Meena's psychological state have emerged, revealing tendencies towards psychopathy and a history of aggressive conduct, raising significant concerns regarding his behavior.

"A thorough psychological evaluation of the accused is now being planned as part of the ongoing investigation," a source stated.

Additionally, it has come to light that Meena had a gambling addiction, particularly to online betting and card games like 'teen patti,' leading him to lose over ₹7 lakh in recent months. This financial strain forced him to borrow money to support his habit.

Previously, he worked as a domestic helper at the victim's home but was dismissed due to alleged financial misconduct.

The case involves the murder of a 22-year-old woman, the daughter of a senior Indian Revenue Services officer, who was also an engineering graduate and a UPSC aspirant, at her residence in the Kailash Hills area of southeast Delhi.

Investigators revealed that Meena exploited his knowledge of the house's layout and entry points to gain access to the flat.

According to police reports, he allegedly attacked the victim in her rooftop study room with a heavy object, assaulted her, and then dragged her downstairs to use her fingers for the biometric locker to steal cash.

The autopsy confirmed that strangulation was the cause of death, along with multiple injuries, including a fractured nasal bone, indicating a struggle.

"After changing his clothes and footwear, he fled to Palam Railway Station to catch a train to Rewari in Haryana. When he missed the train, he booked a hotel in Dwarka, where he was later apprehended. Police recovered over ₹1 lakh in cash and stolen jewelry from him," a police officer reported.

Furthermore, authorities have connected Meena to a rape case that occurred in Alwar, Rajasthan, just hours before the incident in Delhi.
