Tragic Incident in Hazaribagh District

A horrifying incident has emerged from Hazaribagh district, leaving the entire community in shock. In the Vishnugadh police jurisdiction, authorities have made a startling revelation regarding the brutal murder of a 13-year-old girl.

Details of the Crime

The tragic event occurred on the night of March 24-25, sending shockwaves not only through the local populace but also igniting outrage across the state. Initially perceived as a case of rape and murder, the investigation unveiled shocking truths that left everyone astounded.

Discovery of the Body

On the morning of March 25, police received a tip-off about a girl's body found behind a middle school in Kusumbha village, hidden among bamboo thickets. The discovery caused panic in the area, with locals suspecting rape and brutal murder, leading to widespread anger.

Circumstances of the Girl's Disappearance

Reports indicate that the victim had gone to watch a Mangla procession with her mother on the night of March 24, after which she mysteriously vanished. Her family filed a police report expressing concerns about her abduction, and her body was later found in a field on March 25, sparking various rumors in the village.

Unveiling the Disturbing Truth

Given the gravity of the situation, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed on March 26. During the investigation, it was revealed that the girl's mother, Reshmi Devi, had consulted a local witch, Shanti Devi, regarding her son's physical and mental issues. Under the influence of superstition, the witch suggested sacrificing a virgin girl to resolve these problems, to which the mother agreed.

Who Was Involved in the Murder?

The police investigation disclosed that on the night of the incident, the girl was lured to the witch's house. There, her mother, Shanti Devi, and Bhim Ram—who had been in an illicit relationship with the mother for the past decade—collaborated to strangle the girl in a bamboo grove. Following the murder, in the name of black magic, inhumane acts were also committed with the body.

Arrests Made

After the SIT's actions, police apprehended the three suspects: Bhim Ram, Reshmi Devi, and Shanti Devi. Authorities confirmed that legal proceedings are underway under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, and further investigations are ongoing.

Police Disclosure Under Pressure

In response to judicial pressure, the police expedited their investigation and revealed the details of the case late Wednesday night, presenting the accused to the media. While the community remains enraged, there is also scrutiny on the police's handling of the case.
