Shocking Murder in Keonjhar: Granddaughter and Husband Arrested in Elderly Woman's Death

Murder Case Unveiled in Keonjhar

Keonjhar: The local police in Keonjhar have successfully solved the murder of a 70-year-old woman, Birma Munda, by apprehending her granddaughter and grandson-in-law. The suspects, Gangi Munda, aged 35, and her 38-year-old husband Chhotu Munda, were involved in a violent altercation with the elderly woman late Tuesday night. The confrontation escalated, leading the couple to violently throw Birma to the ground.

As a result of the assault, Birma suffered severe injuries and lost consciousness. Villagers discovered her lifeless body at her residence and promptly alerted the authorities. Police arrived swiftly to initiate an investigation, enlisting a forensic team to assist. A formal case has been registered, and following a post-mortem examination, the body was returned to the family, as confirmed by IIC Srikant Sahu of the Town police station. Ongoing investigations are being conducted.
