In a startling revelation, police in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh, have uncovered the details surrounding the discovery of an unidentified woman's body. Investigations revealed that the victim was murdered by her lover and his brother-in-law. Following the crime, the duo disposed of the body near a railway track and fled the scene. Discovery of the Body
On May 7, 2026, an unknown woman's body was found near a railway track close to the Bhampur crossing in the Gajraula police jurisdiction, causing a stir in the community. Upon receiving the report, police secured the body and sent it for autopsy while launching an investigation. Two days later, on May 9, the deceased was identified as Tanu, the wife of Sunil Tamoli, a resident of Shiv Vihar Colony in Ballabgarh, Faridabad.
Details of the Murder
The victim, approximately 26 years old, was found to have been strangled, according to the autopsy report. Based on a complaint from the family, police filed an FIR against the primary suspect, Kamil, who hails from the Nauganwa Sadat area of Amroha. The investigation also implicated Kamil's brother-in-law, Nazir, in the murder.
Marriage Pressure Leads to Tragedy
During interrogation, the suspects revealed alarming details. Police learned that the victim had been experiencing marital issues and had been living separately from her husband. During this time, she developed a romantic relationship with Kamil. Reports indicate that Tanu had been pressuring Kamil to marry her, leading to frequent disputes between the two.
Confession of the Suspects
In their statements, the suspects admitted that the pressure of marriage and ongoing arguments prompted Kamil to conspire with his brother-in-law, Nazir, to commit the murder. They lured Tanu to a secluded area along the railway tracks beyond Gajraula station, where they strangled her. After the murder, they covered her body with her own dupatta and fled the scene.
The Gajraula police have successfully solved the case and arrested both suspects. Officials have stated that further legal actions are underway, and the shocking nature of this murder has sparked widespread discussion in the area.
