Shocking Murder Case in Visakhapatnam: Navy Employee Confesses to Killing Girlfriend

In a disturbing event that unfolded in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, a married naval officer allegedly murdered his girlfriend on Sunday, March 29. Following the crime, he dismembered her body and subsequently walked into a police station to confess.

The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Monica, while the accused is 35-year-old Chintada Ravindra. Preliminary investigations reveal that Ravindra severed Monica's head, arms, and legs from her torso. He concealed her legs and hips in a trolley bag and stored the torso in a refrigerator.

Additionally, he attempted to incinerate her head and hands in a remote area. When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered body parts in the home and refrigerator, but Monica's head was missing. Police suspect that Ravindra may have disposed of it elsewhere.

According to police reports, the accused is a technician stationed at the Indian Naval Ship (INS) Dega. Ravindra and Monica met on a dating app called 'Mingle' in 2021 and frequently met at various locations in Visakhapatnam, including parks and theaters.

Over time, their relationship evolved into a romantic one. In 2024, Ravindra married another woman. He claims that since his marriage, Monica had been threatening to disclose their affair to his wife. Furthermore, he alleged that Monica had borrowed 350,000 rupees from him.

This led to frequent arguments between the two. A few weeks prior, Ravindra's wife had gone to her parental home in Vizianagaram, which he exploited to invite Monica over to his residence.

Investigations indicate that Ravindra had premeditated the murder. He called Monica to his home in the afternoon, and by evening, a dispute escalated, resulting in him strangling her to death.

Afterward, he ordered a knife through an online delivery service and proceeded to dismember her body. The police have formed a special team to search for the missing body parts. A murder case has been registered, and further investigations are ongoing.
