Shocking Murder Case in Chhattisgarh: Woman Kills Husband in Fit of Rage
Murder in Jashpur District
A shocking incident has emerged from the Duldula police station area in Jashpur district, Chhattisgarh. Here, a woman named Mangrita Bhagat (43) has been accused of murdering her husband, Santosh Bhagat. Reports indicate that Mangrita had recently returned from Mumbai to their village. The couple had been embroiled in a long-standing dispute, which escalated to the point where Mangrita, in a fit of rage, bludgeoned Santosh to death with a metal hammer.
Following the murder, she attempted to conceal the body. Mangrita wrapped Santosh's corpse in a blanket and stuffed it into a red trolley bag, hiding it inside their home. Subsequently, she called her middle daughter to confess, stating, "I have killed your father, and his body is in a suitcase at home." Alarmed by her mother's revelation, the daughter rushed to the village with her husband and informed her uncle, Vinod Minj, who promptly alerted the Duldula police.
Body Discovered in Trolley Bag
The police arrived at the scene and conducted a search of the house. During their investigation, they discovered the trolley bag, which contained Santosh's body wrapped in a blanket, showing signs of blood on his face and hands. Family members revealed that Mangrita had been working in Mumbai and had returned to the village just days before the incident. After the murder, she fled back to Mumbai. Upon receiving the news, SSP Shashi Mohan Singh also visited the site and confirmed that a case had been registered at the Duldula police station based on a report from the deceased's brother.
Fugitive After the Crime
According to the SSP, a case has been filed under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, and an investigation has commenced. Initial inquiries suggest that the wife acted out of anger, but the true motive will be clarified after further questioning. Currently, a police team has departed for Mumbai to apprehend Mangrita Bhagat and uncover the truth behind this tragic event. The investigation is ongoing.
