On January 5, a case was registered at the Trans Yamuna police station following a court order. The investigation was handed over to the Kamla Nagar police on March 16. The deceased had been married for three years, and there had been ongoing disputes between the couple. The incident occurred when the young man visited his in-laws for his birthday. He fell ill around 3 AM during the party and was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. Initially, the cause of death was unclear, but subsequent viscera tests revealed the truth, shocking the police.


The victim's family had long suspected foul play, prompting them to file a petition in court. Following the court's directive, police initiated a case against the father-in-law. During interrogation, both the victim's wife and father-in-law confessed to plotting the murder after a dispute, revealing that poison had been added to the alcohol. Both have been remanded to jail.
