Details indicate that the accused girl befriended the young man from Dehradun through social media, along with four of her friends. After exchanging phone numbers, a romantic relationship developed. The young man became so infatuated that he traveled to Panipat at her request, believing they would spend time together at a hotel.

Ransom Demand of 20 Lakhs

Upon arriving at the Moon Hotel in Panipat, the young man booked a room and awaited his girlfriend's arrival. However, as they were about to enter the room, four men suddenly appeared and forcibly made them get into a car. They released the girl but kept the young man captive, demanding a ransom of 20 lakhs from his family. The Panipat police acted swiftly, resolving the kidnapping case within just 30 hours and successfully apprehending the main four suspects.

Authorities have stated that the mastermind behind this entire scheme, the young man's girlfriend, is currently on the run, and efforts to locate her are underway.
