Shocking Incident: Woman Claims Gang-Rape in Ambulance After Fainting During Exam

Allegations of Gang-Rape in Bihar

In a disturbing incident in Bihar, a woman has reported being gang-raped inside an ambulance while being transported to a hospital after she collapsed during a government recruitment examination, according to police statements released on Saturday.

Authorities have arrested two individuals identified by the victim, who had participated in a home guard recruitment event.

The woman fainted on July 24 and was taken to Anugrah Narain Medical College and Hospital in Gayaji. Upon regaining consciousness, she claimed that she was assaulted within the ambulance, stated SP (Town – Gayaji) Ramanand Kumar Kaushal.

Following her allegations, the driver and a technician present in the ambulance were detained. The woman was able to identify them, and their explanations were deemed unsatisfactory, leading to their arrest under applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita.

Kaushal confirmed that the medical examination of the victim has been completed, and further actions will be determined based on the examination results.

The incident has sparked outrage from Union minister Chirag Paswan, a supporter of the NDA government in the state, as well as from opposition leaders.

Before heading to Gayaji for a rally, Paswan expressed his dismay to reporters in Patna, stating, "This incident is unacceptable. While the perpetrators may have been apprehended, the administration's failure to prevent such crimes is alarming. I regret supporting a government that cannot maintain law and order."

Tejashwi Yadav, the opposition leader in the state assembly, shared a news article about the incident on social media, urging voters to remove the Nitish Kumar government to safeguard the girl child.

Yadav criticized the current administration, claiming that Bihar is under a "rule of demons" and accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his deputies of remaining silent on such grave matters.

Rajesh Kumar, the state Congress president, remarked that the incident reflects a breakdown in law and order, which is unsurprising given the chaotic behavior of the ruling party observed during the recent assembly session. He emphasized that the party is dedicated to ensuring justice for the victim.
