Shocking Incident of Assault in Lucknow Amid Heavy Rain
Disturbing Crime in Lucknow
In a distressing incident that has shaken the city, a teenage girl was brutally assaulted in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, during heavy rainfall. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Sector M, within the jurisdiction of the Ashiyana police station, at a construction site where the girl sought shelter from the rain. She was on her way to work, caring for children at a nearby home, as she did every day.
Seeking Shelter from the Rain
As the rain intensified, the girl took refuge in the under-construction building. Allegations suggest that a worker at the site dragged her inside while his accomplices stood guard outside. When she resisted, the assailants bound her hands and feet, assaulted her, and muffled her cries with a cloth. Concerned for her well-being when she did not arrive on time, the woman she worked for began searching for her. Local residents grew suspicious and searched the construction site, where they ultimately found the girl in a distressed state on the third floor.
Perpetrators Found Hiding
After locating the girl, locals apprehended the workers who were hiding near a water tank on the building's roof and severely beat them. The Ashiyana police arrived promptly at the scene; the victim was rushed to Lokbandhu Hospital for a medical examination.
Authorities have detained five workers from the site. Preliminary reports indicate that all suspects are residents of Sitapur. The police have registered a case under relevant sections related to the assault and have initiated an investigation. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, the occurrence of the assault has been confirmed. Interrogations of the suspects are ongoing, and the police are in the process of recording the victim's statement while gathering detailed information about the incident.
