Shocking Incident of Assault in Lucknow Amid Heavy Rain
Disturbing Crime in Lucknow
In a distressing incident that has shaken the city, a teenage girl was brutally assaulted in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, during heavy rainfall. This incident occurred on Tuesday evening in Sector M, within the jurisdiction of the Ashiyana police station, at a construction site where the girl sought refuge from the downpour. The victim, who works as a caretaker for children in a nearby home, was on her way to work as usual.
Seeking Shelter from the Rain
As the rain intensified, the girl took shelter inside the under-construction building. Allegations suggest that a worker at the site dragged her inside while his accomplices kept watch outside. When the victim resisted, the assailants bound her hands and feet, assaulted her, and muffled her cries with a cloth. Concerned about her absence, the woman for whom the girl worked began searching for her. Local residents grew suspicious and conducted a search of the construction site, where they eventually found the girl in a distressed state on the third floor.
Perpetrators Found Hiding
After locating the girl, local residents apprehended the workers who were found hiding near a water tank on the building's roof and severely beat them. Upon receiving the report, the Ashiyana police quickly arrived at the scene; the victim was immediately taken to Lokbandhu Hospital for a medical examination.
The police have detained five workers from the site. Preliminary information indicates that all suspects are residents of Sitapur. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections related to rape and have commenced an investigation. According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central, the occurrence of the assault has been confirmed. Interrogations of the suspects are ongoing, and the police are in the process of recording the victim's statement while gathering detailed accounts of the incident.
