Disturbing Case of Assault in Ludhiana


Ludhiana: Authorities have initiated legal action against a 35-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting an 11-month-old girl. The suspect, identified as Sanjay Kumar from Purnia district in Bihar, is currently evading capture.


The incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of Dehlon police station on Saturday, according to police reports.


As per the complaint filed by the infant's mother, she returned home to find her daughter crying. Upon entering their hut, she discovered the child injured, while the alleged perpetrator had already fled the scene.


Law enforcement confirmed that a medical examination of the infant has been completed, and a case has been registered under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.


Investigating officer Gurmeet Singh stated that the suspect remains at large, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend him.
