Shocking Incident in Ratlam: Groom's Arrest Before Wedding Due to Rape Allegations
Wedding Celebration Interrupted by Serious Allegations
In Ratlam, a wedding ceremony was abruptly halted when serious allegations of rape and a POCSO case emerged against the groom. The revelation that the minor victim was pregnant sent shockwaves through the community.
The atmosphere turned tense in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam when news broke of a serious rape case filed against the groom, Abhishek Sen. A 15-year-old girl from Ujjain accused him of coercing her into sexual acts. The most shocking detail was the discovery of her pregnancy on the day of the wedding.
Details of the Allegations
According to police reports, the incident occurred on January 5, when Abhishek allegedly entered the victim's home and assaulted her. He threatened her with death if she disclosed the incident. Following the announcement of his marriage, the victim experienced severe mental distress, leading her to attempt suicide by consuming acid on April 6.
Medical Revelation Shocks Family
Upon examination at the hospital, doctors confirmed her pregnancy, prompting the victim to disclose the entire ordeal to her family. With assistance from local authorities, the wedding was promptly called off. The police have filed charges against Abhishek under the POCSO Act and for rape, but he managed to flee before reaching Ratlam for the ceremony.
Wedding Plans Disrupted
Abhishek, a resident of the Teacher Colony in Badnagar, was set to marry a girl from Ratlam. Preparations had been underway for two days prior to the wedding. On Wednesday evening, around 8 PM, he had already set out for the wedding on horseback. However, before arriving, the Badnagar police informed the bride's family about the rape allegations against him, causing chaos at the wedding venue. After discussions between both families, the wedding was ultimately canceled.
Victim's Courage in Reporting
In her complaint to the police, the victim recounted how Abhishek had threatened her into submission. She endured the situation silently for three months but broke down upon learning of his impending marriage to another girl. Following the revelation of her pregnancy, she finally confided in her family. The police, led by Officer Ashok Patidar, acted swiftly on the minor's complaint. Both Abhishek and the victim lived in the same neighborhood, intensifying the gravity of the case. Authorities are actively pursuing Abhishek for arrest.
