Disturbing Case Emerges from Patna

A shocking incident has come to light in Patna, Bihar, where a 13-year-old cousin has allegedly assaulted his 7-year-old relative. The child's mother reported that she had gone to the market in Maner, leaving her daughter alone at home. Upon her return, she found her daughter in a critical condition.

According to reports, the assault occurred in a village within the Maner police jurisdiction. The mother had left her daughter alone when the accused, who lives nearby, entered the house and committed the crime. After the incident, the child's condition deteriorated, leading her to lose consciousness. Fearing the consequences, the young perpetrator fled the scene and hid at his grandmother's house.

The mother, upon discovering her daughter's state, immediately informed the police. The victim disclosed that her cousin had harmed her. Acting swiftly on the family's complaint, law enforcement apprehended the minor from his grandmother's residence, located 8 kilometers away.

Bhanu Pratap Singh, the Superintendent of Police for Patna West, stated that due to the seriousness of the situation, prompt action was taken. The police confirmed the assault and have detained the minor for further investigation. A forensic team has also arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough examination.

Regarding the victim's health, the forensic team has collected the child's undergarments for analysis and gathered additional evidence from the site. Fortunately, the girl is now out of danger and is recovering with her mother. Medical assistance has been provided to her.

The police have presented the accused minor before the Juvenile Justice Board. Since the perpetrator is also a minor, the case will be processed under the Juvenile Justice Act. Authorities are investigating other aspects of the case. This incident raises serious concerns about child safety and the increasing crimes committed by minors.
