On March 1, 2026, the girl gave birth at her residence. Unfortunately, her health has significantly worsened following the delivery, prompting increased concern from health officials and the administration.

In response to this incident, the school headmaster and the girl's family have lodged a formal complaint at the local police station. An FIR has been filed, and a special team has been formed to investigate the matter.

Investigation into the Responsible Individual

The police are currently focusing on two main aspects: identifying the individual responsible for the girl's pregnancy and determining any negligence at the school and hostel levels. How did this situation remain unnoticed by the administration for so long?

Rabinarayan Mishra, the district welfare officer of Kandhamal, has taken a firm stance on the issue. He stated, “This matter has come to the administration's attention, and we have initiated an investigation under existing regulations. A thorough inquiry will be conducted to ascertain where the oversight occurred in hostel supervision. If any negligence is found on the part of the school administration, warden, or any staff member, strict legal action will be taken against them.”

Currently, the investigation will particularly scrutinize the monitoring systems in the hostel and the vigilance of the school management.
