Tragic Attack in Kandivali

A horrifying incident has emerged from Mumbai, where screams echoed in Kandivali as a 42-year-old unemployed man, battling alcoholism, attacked his 14-year-old daughter with a blade early in the morning. The young girl was peacefully sleeping in her room, unaware of the impending danger.

Little did she know that the hands that had cradled her in childhood were now poised to take her breath away. Startled by the sudden assault, the girl screamed in pain. Hearing her cries, her mother, Rajshree, rushed to help, only to become a target herself as the father attempted to harm her as well.

The accused, Hanumant Sonawale, stabbed his wife in the abdomen with the blade.

Injuries and Arrest

Both mother and daughter were rushed to the hospital, covered in blood. The girl required five stitches on her neck, while her mother is also receiving treatment. According to police reports, the attacker suspected his wife of having an affair, leading to a heated argument shortly before the attack. Rajshree was preparing to seek a divorce and legal advice, which enraged Hanumant, prompting him to first assault their daughter and then his wife.

Hanumant had a history of domestic violence and frequently accused his wife of infidelity. He has been arrested at the scene, and charges of attempted murder and domestic violence have been filed against him. The condition of both mother and daughter is reported to be stable, but this brutal act by a father against his own child has left the entire community in shock.
