Disturbing Attack in Kandivali

A horrifying incident has emerged from Mumbai, where screams echoed in Kandivali as a 42-year-old unemployed man, who was also an alcoholic, attacked his 14-year-old daughter with a blade early in the morning. The young girl was peacefully sleeping in her room, unaware of the impending danger.

Little did she know that the hands that had cradled her since childhood were now poised to take her breath away. Startled by the sudden attack, the girl screamed in pain. Hearing her cries, her mother, Rajshree, rushed to help, only to find herself targeted as well. The assailant, Hanumant Sonawale, stabbed his wife in the abdomen.

Injuries Sustained by the Minor

Both mother and daughter were rushed to the hospital, covered in blood. The minor required five stitches on her neck, while her mother is also receiving treatment. According to police reports, the attacker suspected his wife of having an affair. Just moments before the attack, a heated argument had erupted between the couple. Rajshree was preparing to seek a divorce and legal advice, which enraged Hanumant, leading him to first assault his daughter and then his wife.

The accused had a history of domestic violence, frequently beating his wife and questioning her fidelity. Police apprehended Hanumant Sonawale at the scene and have charged him with attempted murder and domestic violence. The condition of the mother and daughter is reported to be stable, but this brutal attack by a father on his own child has left the entire community in shock.
