Shocking Incident in Faridabad: Woman Gang-Raped in Moving Van
Details of the Disturbing Incident
Faridabad: Authorities have apprehended two individuals accused of gang-raping a woman inside a moving van for two hours in Faridabad, Haryana, after they offered her a ride, police reported on Wednesday.
The incident reportedly took place during the night between Monday and Tuesday.
While attempting to secure a ride home, the woman was approached by a van, and the two men persuaded her to enter the vehicle, assuring her they would take her home. Instead, they diverted towards Gurgaon Road.
Upon her objections, the woman was assaulted. The assailants raped her for two hours before abandoning her near SGM Nagar, fleeing the scene. She was subsequently taken to a private hospital due to her injuries.
An FIR has been filed following a complaint from the victim's family, and police are currently reviewing CCTV footage.
Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh mentioned that the victim's sister reported receiving a call from her at 8:30 PM, where she mentioned a disagreement with their mother and her intention to visit a friend's house.
The victim indicated she would return home in three hours.
According to her sister, around midnight, the victim was still waiting for a ride home when the accused offered her a lift, which she accepted.
After picking her up, the two men drove towards Gurugram Road. Following the Hanuman Temple on the Faridabad-Gurugram road, one of the men continued driving while the other assaulted the woman. They reportedly drove around for two hours before the incident concluded.
At approximately 3:00 AM, the assailants discarded the victim from the moving van and escaped. She suffered facial and head injuries.
Medical professionals had to stitch her facial wounds. The victim's family was notified and rushed to the Civil Hospital in Faridabad, where she was initially treated.
Due to the severity of her condition, she has been referred to AIIMS Delhi, although she is currently receiving care at a private facility in Faridabad.
The police have initiated an investigation into the case and have arrested both suspects based on the CCTV evidence.
The accused, who are reportedly from Madhya Pradesh, were residing in Faridabad.
