The victim, who works at a local shop, was taken to the wedding by her friend, Vinod Singh Rawat, aged 20, from Salli village. She informed her family about attending the wedding but did not return home until late at night.
Victim Found in Distress
Around 1:30 AM, the girl managed to call her father, but the call was abruptly disconnected, and her phone was turned off shortly after. Alarmed, her father contacted the police. By 4 AM, local authorities and villagers located her in a locked room in Salli village, where she was found with her hands and feet tied, visibly traumatized. Medical examinations and psychological counseling have been initiated to help her recover from this traumatic experience.
Identifying the Perpetrators
The victim identified three individuals involved in the heinous act: her friend Vinod Singh Rawat, along with Naveen Singh (30) and Pooran Singh Rawat (45), a local BJP leader. They allegedly threatened her with a knife and assaulted her before binding her and fleeing the scene. A case has been registered against them at the Champawat police station, and efforts are underway to apprehend the suspects.

According to the local police chief, the investigation has been assigned to Sub-Inspector Priyanka Maurya, who is collecting forensic evidence from the crime scene.
