Tragic Incident in Barmer District

In 2023, a shocking incident unfolded in the Jogiyon Ki Dadi area of Barmer district, Rajasthan, leaving the local community in disbelief. The case involved a dispute between two individuals living in the same household, which escalated into a murder accusation.

According to police records, 50-year-old Malaram Jogi had been in a live-in relationship with his younger brother's wife, Pawni, for nearly three years. It was reported that Malaram's first wife had passed away, leaving him with eight children. Subsequently, he began living with his brother's wife, with whom he had four children, and they were reportedly cohabiting as a couple.

On the night of the incident, a heated argument broke out between the two. Initial investigations revealed that during the dispute, Malaram allegedly assaulted the woman. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Upon receiving the information, the local police arrived at the scene, seized the body, and sent it for autopsy while initiating an investigation. Pawni was charged under sections 302 (murder) and 323 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code. She was arrested and is currently being interrogated.
