A Disturbing Incident at a Wedding

Currently, wedding season is in full swing, and it's common to encounter various marriage ceremonies or wedding halls. The reality is that these unions often resemble negotiations between the families of the bride and groom, involving substantial financial exchanges. In India, many parents view their daughters as a burden, which leads to grooms' families making unreasonable demands. If the bride's family can afford it, they comply; otherwise, they face social humiliation. A recent incident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, exemplifies this troubling trend when the groom's family made an outrageous demand, prompting the bride's father to plead for understanding.

The Groom's Family Makes an Outrageous Demand

The father, who had worked tirelessly to provide for his daughter, was devastated when the groom's family openly requested a luxury vehicle worth 35 lakh after the wedding rituals had commenced. Despite already spending a significant amount on the wedding, the father expressed his inability to meet this new demand. The groom's family, however, remained adamant, threatening to leave the wedding. In a desperate attempt to resolve the situation, the bride's family called the police, but no solution was reached.

The matter escalated to a community council, which ruled that the groom's family must reimburse the bride's father for all wedding expenses. However, the groom's family delayed the process and even filed a police complaint against the bride's family, but the truth eventually came to light.

Seeking Justice for His Daughter

Upon learning of the situation, the bride's family filed a complaint against the groom's family. The police took action, leading to an investigation. The bride's father expressed his desire for justice, stating, 'Those responsible should face consequences to prevent such incidents from happening to other daughters in the future. I am grateful that my daughter was spared from the clutches of dowry seekers.'
