Bengaluru, Aug 18: A disturbing double murder case has emerged from Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru, where police have apprehended Harini, the wife of the deceased, for allegedly murdering her husband, Abhinandan, with the assistance of her lover, Vinay. In a chilling twist, she is also accused of strangling their child, Yaduveer, to cover up the crime, as reported by authorities on Tuesday.

As per police reports, Harini and her lover Vinay conspired to kill Abhinandan. Their son Yaduveer was present during the incident, and fearing he might disclose the truth, Harini is said to have taken his life as well.

Authorities suspect that the couple attempted to stage the scene by placing Abhinandan's body over Yaduveer's, aiming to create the impression that Abhinandan had killed his son before taking his own life.

The investigation revealed inconsistencies at the crime scene, prompting police to trace blood stains. They discovered that Harini had washed blood-stained clothes and hung them out to dry, raising further suspicions.

It was noted that Harini had disabled the CCTV cameras prior to the incident. She allegedly summoned Vinay to her home around 11 p.m. the night before the murders. After the alleged killings, Vinay fled the scene but was later apprehended by police.

During a six-hour interrogation, Harini reportedly confessed to the murders of both her husband and son.

N. Nagesh, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, indicated that the couple had a history of marital disputes and frequent arguments. Harini had previously left their home but returned later. The investigation also uncovered her relationship with Vinay.

Family member Jayamma expressed her long-held suspicions about Harini's behavior, noting her frequent phone calls.

Three months prior, Harini had left home, leaving a letter behind, but the incident was kept under wraps in hopes of reconciliation.

Yaduveer's presence during Abhinandan's murder became a pivotal element in the investigation, as it is believed Harini killed him to eliminate a witness.

Harini was arrested on Monday, while police continue their search for Vinay. The investigation is ongoing to clarify the events leading up to the murders and the underlying motives.

Abhinandan, the only son of his parents, owned significant property, including a three-storey building in Chikkabanavara. Investigators suspect that the accused believed they could inherit this property following Abhinandan's death, indicating a premeditated conspiracy to murder.
