Shocking Domestic Incident in Delhi Court: Woman Attacks Husband with Chili Powder
Disturbing Incident in Delhi's Tis Hazari Court
A startling case has emerged from the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi, where a woman, in a fit of rage, committed an act that is truly shocking. The incident involved a woman who poured hot water mixed with chili powder over her husband. The reasons behind her actions and the subsequent punishment handed down by the court are equally distressing. Let's delve into the details of this case.
On January 1, 2025, a couple residing in the Nangloi area of Delhi, Jyoti, known as Kittu, was at home with her husband. Allegations state that Jyoti poured boiling water, laced with red chili powder, onto her husband's face, mouth, and chest. She reportedly threatened him, saying, 'I will kill you.' This left her husband in shock.
Escaping with the Phone
Following this, Jyoti took further drastic measures. She locked the room from the outside and fled with her husband's mobile phone to prevent him from seeking help. In agony, her husband broke a window and shouted for assistance from the balcony. Hearing his cries, the landlord, Vikas, rushed to his aid and took him to the hospital. Fortunately, doctors reported that he sustained only minor injuries.
Jyoti's Previous Marriage
After the incident, an FIR was filed against Jyoti at the Nangloi police station. The police initiated an investigation and soon submitted a charge sheet. The case reached the Tis Hazari Court, where Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Saurabh Kulshrestha presided over the hearing. Jyoti's lawyer argued in court that she was falsely implicated and had been a victim of domestic violence herself. On November 19, 2024, Jyoti had also filed a complaint against her husband. The lawyer highlighted that Jyoti's life had been challenging, having gone through a previous divorce and being a mother to a daughter. Conversely, the husband's lawyer opposed her bail, claiming that Jyoti had concealed her first marriage and daughter from him, which constituted a significant betrayal in their relationship. He further asserted that Jyoti's behavior posed a danger, and granting her bail could jeopardize the victim and witnesses.
Bail Granted
On July 9, 2025, the court granted Jyoti bail with a bond of ₹30,000. After considering arguments from both sides, the judge decided to allow her bail. Judge Saurabh Kulshrestha stated that given the circumstances of the case and ensuring that Jyoti would not harm the victim or witnesses, bail could be granted. The court imposed strict conditions to prevent any further misconduct.
