Shocking Developments in Twisha Sharma's Death Case: CBI Takes Action
CBI Unveils Disturbing Details in Twisha Sharma's Case
In a startling revelation regarding the suspicious death of actress and model Twisha Sharma, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) presented significant findings before the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Wednesday. The agency accused former judge Giribala Singh of having "spared no effort" in tarnishing the reputation of the 33-year-old deceased model. Taking these allegations seriously, the High Court promptly revoked the anticipatory bail granted to Singh.
Challenging Singh's bail, the CBI also leveled accusations of dowry harassment, forced abortion, and attempts to tamper with evidence. Furthermore, it was claimed that Twisha's in-laws failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the injuries found on her body.
Injuries and Medical Reports Raise Questions
The CBI informed the court that Twisha had injuries on her wrist and elbow, yet her in-laws did not clarify how these injuries occurred. According to the agency, a medical report indicated that these injuries could not have happened while the body was being taken down from a noose. These assertions emerged shortly after questions were raised about the injury marks mentioned in Twisha's post-mortem report.
WhatsApp Chats and Forced Abortion Claims
The agency further revealed that WhatsApp chats obtained during the investigation indicated that when Twisha's pregnancy was disclosed, both Giribala Singh and her husband, Samarth Singh, expressed doubts about her character.
The CBI alleged that following this, there was pressure on Twisha to undergo a forced abortion, as it was claimed that the child was not Samarth's.
Allegations of Dowry Demands and Evidence Tampering
Witness statements cited by the agency suggested that multiple demands for dowry were made, and it was also alleged that the dowry given at the time of marriage was "not commensurate with their status."
Additionally, the CBI accused Giribala Singh of attempting to tamper with evidence by circulating a selective video clip on social media. The agency stated that Singh leaked a small, edited portion of a video recording in an effort to influence matters related to the case, asserting that custodial interrogation was necessary for a thorough investigation.
High Court Revokes Giribala Singh's Bail
Later in the day, the Madhya Pradesh High Court annulled the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh. In a 17-page order, vacation judge Devanarayan Mishra overturned the decision made by the 10th Additional Sessions Judge of Bhopal on May 15, which had previously granted bail to Singh.
The court approved the petitions for revocation of his bail, stating, "The anticipatory bail order passed by the 10th Additional Sessions Judge of Bhopal on May 15, 2026, is hereby revoked." Senior lawyer Anurag Srivastava, representing Twisha's family, welcomed this ruling, stating, "Finally, justice has been served in the Twisha case." He further remarked that given Giribala Singh's 36 years of service in the judiciary, he should "graciously surrender to the CBI and cooperate with the investigation."
Samarth Singh Sent to CBI Custody
Earlier on Wednesday, a Bhopal court ordered the CBI to take Twisha Sharma's husband, Samarth Singh, into custody. Subsequently, a CBI team took Samarth to Giribala Singh's residence in the Katara Hills area for further investigation.
The CBI had taken over the investigation into the death of former model-actress Twisha Sharma on Monday. She was reportedly found hanging at her in-laws' home in Bhopal on May 12. Following this, the agency re-registered the FIR initially filed by the Madhya Pradesh police, naming Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh as accused.
