Shocking Demand in Jalgaon: Man Asks Woman for Physical Relations Under Pretense of E-KYC
Incident in Jalgaon Raises Concerns
In a disturbing incident in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, a man allegedly demanded physical relations from a woman under the guise of completing the e-KYC process for the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bhain scheme. The accused, identified as Gokul Chavan, reportedly visited the woman's home, claiming he needed to gather necessary documents for the scheme, and then made his inappropriate request.
The victim promptly reported the incident to the police and filed a complaint against the accused. In her statement, she mentioned that Chavan assured her he would complete the KYC for the scheme but instead demanded sexual favors in return.
Accused Continues to Harass Despite Warnings
The woman alleged that even after her husband warned Chavan to stay away, he continued to stalk her. Based on her complaint, the city police have registered a case of harassment against Gokul Chavan.
The victim explained that during November and December 2025, she was advised to complete the KYC process due to the non-disbursement of funds from the Ladki Bhain scheme. Upon learning this, Chavan approached her home, promising to assist with the KYC, but instead made inappropriate demands.
Importance of E-KYC in Government Schemes
It is important to note that e-KYC, or online customer verification, is a crucial process that ensures government benefits reach the intended recipients. This verification is mandatory for all beneficiaries, and recently, around 6.8 million accounts were closed due to the failure to complete the e-KYC process on time.
