Shocking Demand from Bride Leads to Controversy in Agra Wedding

In a surprising incident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a bride made an astonishing demand during the wedding night preparations. She insisted that the groom pay her 90 lakh rupees before she would lift her veil. This unexpected request sparked a significant dispute.

The incident occurred in the Jagdishpura area, where the newlywed bride shocked her in-laws by demanding a hefty sum of 90 lakh rupees just a day after the wedding. The family was left in disbelief. Allegedly, when the money was not provided, the bride took all her jewelry and returned to her parental home.

Family Locks Up the House

The situation escalated when, a few months later, the bride's family reportedly arrived at the groom's house and locked it from the outside. They allegedly attempted to set the house on fire by breaking the PNG gas line after the money was not paid. The victim's family managed to call the police, who intervened just in time.

Dr. Muskaan Singh, a resident of Sikandra, shared that her brother Gaurav married Kalpana from Hathras on April 29, 2025. Following the wedding, Kalpana made her financial demand. When the money was not forthcoming, she returned to her parental home, subsequently pressuring for a bank transfer via WhatsApp.

Revelations from the Wedding Broker

In March, the bride, accompanied by her father and brothers, allegedly arrived at the groom's house with a group of 7-8 people. They reportedly locked the gate and began to threaten the family. The victim claimed that the wedding broker, Munna Master, admitted that the entire marriage was orchestrated as part of a scheme to extort 90 lakh rupees.

The victim stated that they had previously filed a complaint with the police commissioner, but no action was taken. They have now submitted a petition to the court, seeking to file a case and request an investigation. The police have indicated that the truth will emerge following their inquiry, and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.
