Unusual Wedding Demand in Agra

Shocking Demand by Bride in Agra: 90 Lakh Rupees for Wedding Night

In a surprising incident in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, a bride made an astonishing demand during the preparations for her wedding night. She insisted that her groom pay her 90 lakh rupees before she would lift her veil. This unexpected request led to a significant dispute.

The incident occurred in the Jagdishpura area, where the newlywed bride presented this shocking condition to her in-laws just a day after the wedding. The family was left in disbelief as she demanded the large sum of money. Allegedly, when the money was not provided, the bride took all her jewelry and returned to her parental home.

Family Locks the House

The situation escalated when, a few months later, the bride's family reportedly arrived at the groom's house and locked it from the outside. They allegedly attempted to set the house on fire by cutting the PNG gas line after the groom's family failed to meet their financial demands. The victim's family managed to call the police, who intervened just in time.

Dr. Muskaan Singh, a resident of Sikandra, shared that her brother Gaurav married Kalpana from Hathras on April 29, 2025. Following the wedding, Kalpana made her financial demands. When her requests went unfulfilled, she returned to her parental home, continuing to pressure them for money via WhatsApp.

Broker's Revelation

In March, the bride, accompanied by her father and brothers, allegedly arrived at the groom's house with a group of 7-8 individuals. They reportedly locked the gate and began to threaten the family. The victim claimed that the wedding broker, Munna Master, admitted that the entire marriage was orchestrated as part of a scheme to extort 90 lakh rupees.

The victim stated that they had previously filed a complaint with the police commissioner, but no action was taken. Now, they have submitted a petition to the court, seeking to file a case and demand an investigation. The police have indicated that the truth will emerge following their investigation, and appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.
