Shocking Crime: Drunk Son Allegedly Murders Parents in Odisha

Tragic Incident in Mayurbhanj District

Baripada: In a shocking turn of events, a man reportedly under the influence of alcohol has been accused of murdering his parents with a hammer in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The incident took place in Dhonapal village on Tuesday night, and the gruesome discovery was made by locals the following morning.

Witnesses found the bodies of the elderly couple, Hadibandhu Sahu (81) and Shanti Sahu (72), while their son, Himanshu (55), was found sitting on a cot nearby. Concerned residents alerted the authorities, prompting police to arrive at the scene.

Upon investigation, law enforcement officials apprehended Himanshu and transported the deceased to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada for autopsy. Initial reports suggest that a heated argument led to the tragic event, with Himanshu allegedly using a hammer typically employed for breaking stones.

It has been noted that Himanshu's wife and children have been living apart for an extended period due to ongoing family conflicts.
