This shocking case comes shortly after a similar incident in Pune, where a 65-year-old man was arrested for the rape and murder of a 3.5-year-old girl. In Beed, the grandfather allegedly raped his granddaughter, tarnishing the sanctity of familial bonds. The crime took place in a village under the jurisdiction of the Yusuf Wadgaon police station, and the suspect has been apprehended.


What Happened?

According to reports, a married woman had returned to her parental home with her 3-year-old daughter. Between April 16 and 25, the girl's grandfather took advantage of the situation and committed the atrocious act. After experiencing pain, the child confided in her mother about the incident, leaving her in shock.


Legal Action Taken

The mother of the victim promptly filed a complaint at the Yusuf Wadgaon police station. Following the complaint, the police registered a case against the accused and swiftly arrested him.


Charges Under POCSO Act

The police have filed charges against the accused under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, in connection with the incident that occurred in a village in the Keg Tehsil.
