Kendrapara: Authorities have taken a teacher from a government high school in Odisha's Kendrapara district into custody following allegations of molestation involving several female students.

The incident has caused significant unrest in the coastal village of Dangamal.

The marine police station in Talchua acted on a report from the headmaster of Naga Narayan High School, who alerted them about the teacher's inappropriate behavior towards a group of seventh-grade girls.

"We have apprehended the suspect and are currently questioning him. However, no formal complaint has been filed yet. We are coordinating with the parents of the affected girls, who have agreed to proceed with a complaint," stated Bimal Mallick, Inspector-in-Charge of the Talchua marine police station.

Mallick chose not to disclose additional information, citing the sensitive nature of the situation.
