Disturbing Revelations from South Karnataka
A startling incident has come to light in the South Kannada district of Karnataka, where a former cleaner associated with the Dharmasthala temple administration has made several shocking allegations. The individual claims he was coerced into cremating and burying the bodies of rape victims for years. Recently, he reached out to local authorities, seeking protection for himself and his family.
Victim Emerges After a Decade, Seeks Justice
According to reports from a local news outlet, the man revealed that he decided to come forward after nearly ten years due to feelings of guilt and a desire to seek justice for the victims. He alleged that the remains belonged to numerous women and schoolgirls who were raped and murdered in the Dharmasthala area between 1998 and 2014.
Police Action Following Confidentiality Request
Arun K., the Superintendent of Police for South Kannada, stated that the individual has requested to keep his identity confidential. Following the necessary legal permissions, the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
Threat to Family and Evidence of Human Remains
The complainant's lawyers, Ozashwi Gowda and Sachin Deshpande, shared details of his statement with the police. The complainant also claimed to have provided photographs of human remains that he recently excavated, which he had buried years ago.
He expressed, "I urge the police to excavate the remains of the bodies I buried. About 11 years ago, I left Dharmasthala with my family and have been hiding in a neighboring state. We live in constant fear of being killed ourselves." The government’s response to this grave situation is currently awaited.
Discovery of a Student's Body in School Uniform
The former cleaner recounted that initially, he believed the bodies he encountered (mostly of women without clothing) were the result of suicides or drownings. However, some bodies bore signs of sexual assault, strangulation, and other injuries, raising his suspicions.
He recalled a particularly haunting incident from 2010, where a girl aged between 12 to 15 was found dead about 500 meters from a petrol station in Kalleri. She was wearing a school uniform, but her skirt and undergarments were missing, and her body showed signs of sexual assault and strangulation.
